http://www.engadget.com/entry/1234000740032884
Got my story there too if your real interested, anywho made me think,
1) what is the average HDD failure rate nowadays
2) What is the safest method of data storage irrspective of price
3)Are flash drives really significantly safer than standard magnetic drives

thanks

5% ?  Don't know what interval, which is pretty relevant.
Too many variables though, add cooling and power into the
mix and one has to look at entire system as a contributary
cause, with HDD only being a casualty.

Redundant flash media
Stone tablets hold up pretty well too but have a much lower
density.

>3)Are flash drives really significantly safer than standard magnetic drives

Absolutely

The safest storage is online with an insurance policy
that far exceeds the value of you data.
