Unlikely readings of motherboard temperature

I've recently built a pc from scratch. It has a Pentium 4 3.2GHz CPU on
a BOXD915PCY motherboard. So I've installed the Intel Desktop utilities
to monitor the CPU heat, and to my surprise the readings were as
follows:
CPU area: -14 deg.C, System Zone 1: 124 deg.C and System Zone 2: 125
deg.C.!?! I've
installed a Zalman CPU Heatsink-fan which should be efficient but not
to the point of bringing the CPU temperature bellow freezing point I
think, and with these onboard temperatures my motherboard should be
close to melting. Any suggestion as to why this is going on?
