Can a bad CPU harm a MOBO?
I have a new Gigabyte motherboard and got a monitor image with a new Athlon XP 2200+ CPU. This morning I substituted an Athlon XP 2600 and nothing happened. Then when I re-tried the 2200+, it failed too. Help please? It's a big YES. If there is an internal short in the CPU, it is possible
that some I/O components on the mother board can be damaged. -- Jerry G. ===== "geezer" <w**@willy.com> wrote in message Seems like my new MOBO will no longer work since I tried a CPU in it.news:eada1197h12ivdlgtpoofkl3jmmel5142i@4ax.com...
