So I have a lot of home videos and other VHS tapes that I want to dub to
digital with my Canopus ADVC300. My Mitsubishi VCR, which has been the
best one I have ever owned, is showing its age. Is it possible to buy a
decent VCR right now? One more ought to do it for me. Does a commercial
unit have better quality playback than the typical consumer (Mitsubishi,
not Emerson) models did?

Please give me a recommendation of a model and source for a prosumer,
semi-pro, or over pro VHS VCR in the US. My price cap is $1000.00,
although I would love to spend less.
