Also do a google search for getting the best Utube quality - the trick is to start with the highest quality footage and use software to compress it yourself to their requirements to avoid them using their low quailty compression techniques and or recompressing what you have already done compounding any defects in the quality of the material. As for battery life - most of us are resigned to carrying extras around - I always carry a number of fully charged high capacity batteries when on a shoot as well as using an in-car charger (I do mainly Wildlife / Adventure stuff). I hope someone else can chip in with a word from actual experience - I did find a short clip made with the Toshiba Camileo: http://www.metacafe.com/watch/785561/cavalcades_2007/ The quality is variable but some sections seem perfectly good enough for Utube - and if you shoot at 640x480 and avoid the 320 setting, plus use of a tripod - even under decent lighting conditions - you may get what you're looking for. ?97 plus IVA isn't a bad price at all - perhaps Optize will do you a deal where you try one out with the understanding that if they are what you need you will buy a bulk quantity. If not they will take it back. It's worth asking their sales dept. I did put something on youtube I made with it: http://www.youtube.com/v/iUOcbMoimYg That is done in 640x480 @25fps converted to DivX4 2 pass. Never in true focus, could not zoom in on the plane, and could not see the viewfinder against the sun, so had to guess (no optical viewfinder). But the color is OK, and somehow it did not pixelate while panning _this_ time ;-) Low light = no picture, but hey, it is fun to have around for sudden things _IF_ you have enough time to find the battery to put it in, as you have to keep it out, else it is empty when you need it. Plus: 2GB SD card works, 640x480 @30fps mpeg4 works, more then many digital cameras can. I just should axe it up one day and put a real lens on it..... One of the most important things for my pourposes is audio quality, so I need a microphone jack and no delay like the one you can see in the videos that I published at www.miguelgallardo.es and www.cita.es But I must to sell with profit giving technical support to my customers so I hope to find something for 200 Euros or cheaper.
