Ant In or AV?

I have satellite TV & a DVD/VCR Combo player.

Earlier, I had connected the Satellite Box to the
TV on AV1. And the DVD/VCR to AV2.
These connections are through those sets of
3 (Red, White, Yellow Cables)

Today I tried connecting the Satellite box to
the TV using the single Antenna In Cable.
I didn't notice much difference in quality.
Is there any advantage to using AV1 over
Ant In?

Next, I am thinking of connecting the Satellite Box
to the VCR & the VCR to the TV through the Ant In.

i.e. I get everything on TV (Channel 0 for DVD/VCR
& Channel 1 for Satellite). So now I just need to shift
between channels for shifting between Dish & DVD
instead of moving between TV & AV1 & AV2.

Any advantages/disadvantages?

Generally, the composite video out (yellow cable) is better quality
than the RF out (single antenna cable), but you may not notice much
difference on a smaller set.

The RF out from both the combo player and sat box will not pass stereo
sound.

No reason you couldn't hook up the RF out from the sat box to the
combo player for recording and keep your current A/V connections as
well.  Another option is to split the sat box A/V outs and connect one
set to the combo player for recording to get stereo recordings and the
other set to the TV so you don't have to turn on the combo player to
watch the box in stereo with the better video.
