Is there software that will allow one to create a DVD to present still
pictures from a digital camera from a DVD player on the television?  Im
hoping there is software that will takes .gifs and organize them and burn a
DVD that can be played in a television DVD player and allow a presentation
of the pictures to be managed by using the DVD player/remote.

thank you for any insight!

Just about any video editing software will allow you to incorporate
images into a video which can later be burned to DVD. But, it sounds
like you want to go directly from images to the DVD and have the
software somehow organize them for you. There may be such a thing in
the PC world, but  I know more about Macs and there you could use the
iDVD program, but you would need to do any organizing yourself. It
should be doable, but, isn't it a bit unusual to have the images in
gif format?
