XPSP2 and MAC Airport AP Problem

I have a laptop that was able to connect to a friend's Airport AP. It
was WEP set on.  Since I've updated with SPS I can't get it to connect
to that AP. Another PC laptop that runs w2k can connect.

I can connect to other hotspots that have WEP.

Is there something I should know ?

Are you using a hexadecimal key, not an ASCII password or key, to join
the AirPort network?
