I want the client PC to exclusively lock onto one targeted Wireless Router
and not randomly pick some other wireless router that happens to have a
stronger signal.

How can you setup a USB adapter to exclusively target one Wireless
AP/Router. The client uses Windows XP with SP2????

I don't have access to my wireless computer at the moment, but there's a
setting in the wireless properties (assumes that Windows in managing the
wireless connection) that will prevent the computer from connecting to
non-prefered networks. Check in the advanced settings in the wireless
properties of the network connection.

1. Double click on the wireless network connection in the system tray.
2. Click on properties
3. click on Wireless Networks Tab
4. Create a profile for your network in the prefered networks box
5. Click on advanced
6.Uncheck the box that says Automatically connect to non-prefered
networks....
